The Sections
AIACE is represented in several Member States by a Section bringing together the former members of staff according to their geographical location.
About Sections
AIACE is represented in various Member States by a Section which groups the former members of staff according to their place of residence.
These Sections were originally six in number, corresponding to the six founding States of the European Union (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands). Eleven more sections have since been added, namely Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Austria and recently Czechia and Poland.
New sections can be created in other countries if the number of potential members justifies it.
In 2024, AIACE has more than 14.000 members.
If you reside in a country where there is no section, contact the Secretariat of AIACE-International directly.
The operation of the Sections
Each national section shall have an Assembly and a management body which are the bodies of the national section. The management body can co-opt members. They must be set up in accordance with the national laws governing the establishment of each section.
Within the context of their powers and territorial authority, each national section shall contribute to the implementation of the aims of the Association.
The national sections shall liaise with the central bodies responsible for representing the members of the Association in dealings with the European Union institutions and bodies. There are currently 17 national branches (Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom).
