2024 AIACE Yearly Congress in Catania, Sicily
From 12 to 15 October 2024
Past event
The 2024 Yearly Congress will be held in Catania, Sicily, from 12 to 15 October.
It will be a unique opportunity to experience conviviality, collegiality, the joy of getting together and meeting colleagues, all combined with culture. It will also be an opportunity to discover Catania, Sicily’s second-largest city, located at the foot of Mount Etna. The architecture, monuments and ruins tell the story of the different civilisations that have left their mark on the city: Greek, Roman, Arab, Norman and Bourbon.
You’ll also get to know the Sicilian Baroque, a unique style, not only in Catania, but also in the towns of Noto, Ragusa and Modica, whose visits are included in the programme.
Extended stays are also available to visit Taormina, Syracuse (a top destination for both Greek antiquity and Baroque), Caltagirona, renowned for its ceramics, and Villa del Casale, a Roman villa with extraordinary mosaics that are unique in the world.
It’s going to be a welcoming experience, both culturally and gastronomically. As the conference poster suggests, Catania is the centre of lemon growing, as well as blood oranges and pistachios.
Half a day will be devoted to a conference/debate on Sicilian and European themes. And our colleagues from the IT Helpdesk will be on hand to provide information, help and troubleshooting.
All the information you need, including the full programme, can be found on the dedicated page as well as in the March edition of the AIACE-VOX magazine.
